Ascending dorsal column pathways, fasiculi gracilus and cuneatus end on neurons in the gracile and cuneate nuclei. Internal arcuate fibers sream from the respective nuclei ventrally to form the massive medial lemniscus dorsal to the pyramids to ascend on each side of the midline up to the pons and onto the posterior thalamus.
